fjordpower: þrumari reminds me so much of a Nix/water spirit in this photo. If you check out the norwegian painter Theodor Kittelsen, you can find numerous pictures of a “monster” in small waters up in the mountains. This “monster” turns in to a beautiful white horse as it walks up on land. He then trick small children in to joining him, and so he takes them back to his pond and drowns them.  Just gotta looooove norwegian fairytales.
